"EIFFEL TOWER PARK" - BIG MARINE PARK RESERVE

GENERAL INFO:
Located in Marine on St Croix, MN.
This is an OUTDOOR park.
This park DOES have restrooms.
Food IS NOT available at this park, however you can bring a picnic. It does have pop machines and ice cream vending machines.
Pets ARE allowed in the park .
The COST is $5.00 or a season pass for the Washington County Parks is $25.00.
Parking is FREE.


The boys spent the day at the
”Eiffel Tower Park” – aka Big Marine Park
and came up with the following review:

SIZE OF PARK:

JACK - Very small park

PLAY STRUCTURES:
5
JAMES - Super Ginormous slide and climbing rock!
JACK - There is a telescope, baby play area and pirate ship.

CLEANLINESS:
5
JAMES&JACK - VERY clean bathrooms!

COMFORT:(chairs, tables, umbrellas, shade, etc)

JAMES - VERY hot. I thought I was going to throw up because I got so hot. Not a lot of places to sit and NO shade.

SAFETY: (Lifeguards, supervision, etc)

JACK - There were a bunch of bees by the rock climbing wall.
JAMES - The climbing wall is very high, and you could fall off easily.
JACK - And it gets VERY hot. Hard to climb when it is that hot.
JAMES - The Eiffel Tower is SUPER high. I got really scared and thought I was going to fall.

ACTIVITIES:(lessons, crafts, other things to do)

JACK - BIG lake
MOM - HUGE picnic area and pavilion. The beach does have life guards, but it is sort of confusing as to when. Click on the name of the park above to see info on hours, etc.

"BIG SLIDE PARK" - VALLEY VIEW PARK

Located in Oak Park Heights, MN
This is an OUTDOOR park

The boys spent the day at the”Big Slide Park” – aka Valley View Park and came up with the following review:


SIZE OF PARK:

5 ~ LOTS of trees and shade. Also has a pavilion that you can reserve for parties.

PLAY STRUCTURES:

5 ~ James said that there is a SUPER big slide and BRAND NEW play structures. He also noted that there is a separate area for older kids and for babies (aka his 2 year old brother).


CLEANLINESS:

5 ~ Mom - They JUST remodeled the park, so it was still a bit torn up. We could definitely see the potential though!

COMFORT:(chairs, tables, umbrellas, etc)

5 ~ James said that there were lots of trees and shade with tons of benches to sit on.


SAFETY:(lifeguards, supervision, etc)

4 ~ Mom – There really isn't any supervision, but seems to be a safe park. It should be noted, however, that the park basically in the Stillwater prison's back yard.

ACTIVITIES:(lessons, crafts, other things to do)

2 ~ James wanted it noted that he originally wanted to rate the activities a 2, however changed his mind. (??) Mom - This park has a ton of walking and biking trails, horseshoe pits and lots of hills and valleys to explore!

TEDDY BEAR PARK

Located in Stillwater, MN

The boys spent the day at the Teddy Bear Park and came up with the following review:

PLAY STRUCTURES:
2 ~ James – I feel bored there – Jack – There isn’t much to do – Mom – LOT’S for Joey to do!

CLEANLINESS:
5 ~ Mom,James,Jack – VERY clean

COMFORT:(chairs,umbrellas,etc)

SAFETY:(lifeguards,supervision,etc)
3 ~ Mom – Whoever decided to put a 2 foot ledge (WITHOUT a railing) in the toddler play area should have their head examined!

ACTIVITIES:(lessons, crafts)

3 ~ James – Hard to push a stroller - Mom – HEAVY traffic and very steep hills. Parking directly across the street.

BATTLE CREEK WATERPARK

Pets ARE NOT allowed in the water park, however ARE allowed in the park itself
The COST is $6.00 per person for all day

The boys spent the day at the Battle Creek Water Park and came up with the following review:

SIZE OF PARK:
4 ~ Mom - This park has one shallow play structure, 1 pool (up to 4 feet), 1 water slide and a lily pad.

PLAY STRUCTURES:
5 ~ Jack - GREAT water slide!

CLEANLINESS:
5

COMFORT:(chairs,umbrellas,etc)
5 ~ Mom - LOT'S of chairs!

SAFETY:(lifeguards,etc)
5 ~ James - Lot's of lifeguards

ACTIVITIES:(lessons, crafts)
2 ~ James - 'nothing' extra to do

PARKING:(distance to walk to the park)
4 ~ Mom - Got there early, so no walking!
